Helpful Habit: Keeping up the habit of sharing a helpful habit on Fridays. Today, at Heart of the Matter, I’m sharing our habit of Christmas in July. It’s one of my favorite parts of our annual Camp Hodgepodge. Basically, we think cool thoughts as we make cookie cutter Christmas cookies, listen to Christmas music, make Christmas gifts… You can find all the helpful habits I’ve shared on past Fridays here.

Plus…

My strawberry birthday cake. It is divine! (thank you Nana!) Prepared by Gabriel’s (owner is Paula Deen’s cousin). I believe the recipe is in Johnnie Gabriel’s first cookbook. What else did I enjoy for my birthday?

Pool fun with two of my childhood friends and their children on two different days this week. How blessed am I? Hugely.

I’m still smiling! And, tomorrow, Hodgepodgedad and I get to go see Jamie @ See Jamie Blog play Truvy in the play, Steel Magnolias.

Next week the big curriculum share hosted by Kris @ Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers!

About Hodgepodgemom

Tricia faces a daily dose of chaos homeschooling five children – preschoolers to high schoolers. The biggest lesson she’s learned? At the end of the day – when the dishes are put away and the children are tucked in bed – truly what matters is each child’s relationship with the Lord. Raising children is a God-given privilege and, folks, the time is short.
