7 Random Facts

1. I used to feed alligators marshmallows from the dock. When I was a child we would go to the beach for weeks at a time. This was back when the Florida panhandle was not so developed. A state park adjoined my great-grandfather’s property. The coastal lakes and swamps…

2. My co-workers out west were concerned for me when I brought cucumber sandwiches for lunch. While it was purely preference for me, they were worried that they needed to take up a collection so that I wouldn’t need to live so frugally.

3. I was on the yearbook staff as photographer in both high school and college. Then, after that, briefly a wedding photographer.

4. I love watching the sunrise at the beach with a cup of coffee in my hand.

5. When I was in first grade my lips used to get really chapped. I thought that by licking them or soaking them in the stream of water at the water fountain, they would feel better. That’s when chapstick became my life-long friend.

6. I have been to the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park three times, the Tetons and Yellowstone five times, Glacier National Park once, Oregon twice and California once – all in the span of about three years. Can’t wait to take the children out there and show them!

7. One of my favorite verses is “So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

About Hodgepodgemom

Tricia faces a daily dose of chaos homeschooling five children – preschoolers to high schoolers. The biggest lesson she’s learned? At the end of the day – when the dishes are put away and the children are tucked in bed – truly what matters is each child’s relationship with the Lord. Raising children is a God-given privilege and, folks, the time is short.

    I love that you used to feed marshmallows to alligators when you were a child – I use to feed marshmallows to bear cubs when we went camping. :)

    I will keep Steven in my prayers!

    • Alea – I knew we were kindred spirits! not only with food but with feeding wild animals marshmallows. Can you believe we did that? So excited to see you at Savvy Blogging 2012!

  7. Thank you for the sweet award! I can’t believe you fed alligators anything! What a brave girl you were. When my sister and I would go to the petting zoo, we’d get some feed from the machine for a quarter. My sister would hold our her hand, feeding the animals and petting them with her other hand. I would hold out my hand with the feed in it, bravely suck in my breath, and as soon as the animal’s tongue got near, scream and drop all the feed on the ground. I think alligators would have given me a heart attack.
    =)

  8. Thank you for the sweet award! Yummy, love chocolate cake, too! I am a little late seeing this, but it is appreciated! Love your random facts!
