From the red-and-white-checked cookbook Nana gave me…

This is good served over noodles, rice or whipped potatoes. ~ Nana

: Beef Burgundy

  1. stew beef, 2 1/2 to 3 pounds
  2. 1 package dry onion soup mix
  3. 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  4. 1 can ginger ale or cream soda (all I had was a Diet Dr. Pepper. Still tasted great!)

  1. Mix soup mix, soups and ginger ale together. Pour over beef.
  2. Oven: Cover with tin foil. Cook at 300 degrees for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
  3. Slow Cooker: Cook on low for 8 hrs.
  4. *For a Sunday lunch I cooked this in the slow cooker on high for 3 hrs then turned it to low for the rest of the cook time.

Ten dollars is a pretty good price for a Sunday meal for 10 people plus enough left over for another meal the next night!

You couldn’t buy lunch for four people for $10 at a fast food place.
Another recipe from that red and white checked cookbook.

About Hodgepodgemom

Tricia faces a daily dose of chaos homeschooling five children – preschoolers to middle schoolers. The biggest lesson she’s learned? At the end of the day – when the dishes are put away and the children are tucked in bed – truly what matters is each child’s relationship with the Lord. Raising children is a God-given privilege and, folks, the time is short.

Tricia, this looks divine! (appropriate for Sunday, eh?) And also perfect for this cooler weather. I’m making note of the recipe. (And I love your diet Dr Pepper substitution!)
