About Hodgepodgemom

Tricia faces a daily dose of chaos homeschooling five children. The biggest lesson she’s learned? At the end of the day – when the dishes are put away and the children are tucked in bed – truly what matters is each child’s relationship with the Lord. Raising children is a God-given privilege and, folks, the time is short.

  1. Hi, Tricia, and thanks for the shout out! I wanted to add my .02 regarding the homemade laundry detergent. We’ve been using it (the powdered variety) for several months now, and I am thoroughly pleased. Even though the Fels Naphtha soap has a strong scent in bar form, it is barely detectable on our clean clothes — an aspect I like, since nothing must interfere with my perfume (or should I say, parfum? Oh, well.).

Thanks for all your frugal inspiration!

    • I love the laundry detergent too Ellen. We’ve been using it for almost a year and a half now. Though the liquid version lasts the longest for us. And, I too, like that you can just barely smell the Fels Naphtha. And thank YOU for all your frugal inspiration! Love your latest homemade frames!

  2. What a great list of resources! I am always looking for new ways to save money!

  3. Really nice of you to list all of those and I’d like to try some of the ideas included in there. It is a good way to start being frugal for the start of the year! Thanks for sharing! :)

  4. Tricia, thanks for sharing all these great frugal resources, especially the free printable pages.
I’ve homeschooled for years and now I’m a homeschool grandma. Because we were a one income family, like most homeschoolers, we were always on the lookout for family friendly resources that were useful and frugal, and that’s what you are supplying.

God’s blessings to you as you continue your homeschool journey.
