Three steps to yum.
Either recruit a child to use a rolling pin or whiz them up in your handy food processor.
Add the 8 oz cream cheese. The Oreos and cream cheese together turns firm and sticky.
Roll into balls. Place Oreo® balls close together on a baking try. Place in the freezer for 10 minutes. Freezing them firms them up for the dipping.
Get your Oreo® balls, take a fork and dip individually into the melted chocolate. Twist it just a bit to cover completely. You’ll probably have to use another fork to carefully remove your freshly dipped Oreo® truffle.
Fill up your tray. Next is the really hard part. Place your tray in the freezer for about 10 more minutes to set the chocolate. Waiting is torture.
But worth the wait. These are perfect for a celebration. A shower or a party. Or great for a Tuesday afternoon.
Oreo Truffles Recipe
- One package Oreo® cookies (or 2 sleeves from a warehouse-sized box)
- 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
- (2) 8 oz. packages chocolate morsels, melted
Crush Oreo® cookies to fine dust. Cream Oreos and cream cheese. Roll mixture into individual balls. Freeze briefly while melting morsels in microwave. Dip balls into melted chocolate. Freeze to set then enjoy!
If there happens to be any leftovers, store in refrigerator.
We first made these while on vacation at the beach but we’ve also made Oreo® truffles on our own turf and they were every bit as delicious. They will always evoke fond beach memories though 🙂 This recipe is all over the internet. Can’t remember its origins but here is a link to a step-by-step on Super Cook for Easy Oreo Truffles.
