10 Things I Would Buy For Our Homeschool With $100

Now this all adds up to more than $100 so I would have to make some choices and narrow down the list. But to start with, here’s a list of ideas. A hodgepodge, of course:

[amazon_image id=”B0096XWS2A” link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]X-Acto Powerhouse Electric Pencil Sharpener – Desktop – 1 Hole(s) – 6amp;quot; x 4amp;quot; x 8.25amp;quot;[/amazon_image]

1. An electric pencil sharpener. One that is durable and could withstand the Hodgepodge! Because if ever there was something that sidetracks math, it is finding a sharpened pencil – with an eraser! And this one is called the powerhouse. Have y’all found one that stands up to abuse?

[amazon_image id=”B00S72KSGO” link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]Alphacolor Non-Toxic Square Pastel Set – 0.43 x 2.75 in. – Set 24[/amazon_image]

2. Alphacolor Chalk Pastels – set of 24 – because, we love chalk pastel art, of course!

[amazon_image id=”B00BEQEQJ0″ link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]SunButter Creamy SunButter 5 Pounds, (Pack of 2)[/amazon_image]

3. Creamy SunButter, 5 Pounds (2 pack) – having our favorite homeschool lunch is must. Allergy-friendly and in large portions. Because we can go through this in a month! More on why we love SunButter.

[amazon_image id=”0195327268″ link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]A History of US: Ten-Volume Set[/amazon_image]

4. A History of US: Ten-Volume Set – this is such a wonderful resource! Part of our Tapestry of Grace studies and simply a delight to use. We’ve borrowed them over and over from the library and from friends. I’d love for them to be a permanent fixture here.

[amazon_image id=”B0006BAEI6″ link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]Rust-Oleum 206540 Chalkboard Brush-On, Black, 30-Ounce[/amazon_image]

5. Chalkboard paint – can never have too much of that! Because we love all things chalkboard (Our IKEA and Chalkboard Homeschool Room)

[amazon_image id=”B005MMNBDO” link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]KitchenAid KSC6223SS 6-Qt. Slow Cooker with Standard Lid – Stainless Steel[/amazon_image]

6. A Kitchen Aid Slow Cooker – yes this is more than $100 but that would make a big dent in it. Not really a homeschool tool but one that makes homeschooling and feeding the family possible! And since we are replacing our slow cooker once or twice a year because of how often we use it (we just wear them out), I have heard that these are awesome and stand up to much use and abuse. Our Ultimate List of Easy Slow Cooker Recipes will fit just right.

[amazon_image id=”0590054821″ link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]Birds (National Audubon Society First Field Guides)[/amazon_image]

7. National Audubon Society First Field Guides – these have been around our house from the early years of homeschooling. Such favorites! Especially with my eldest son. Birds, mammals, night sky, weather, wildflowers, reptiles and more.  There are one or two we lack to finish our collection. I highly recommend these! Nana recorded herself reading several of them. My son would sit with the stack of books and read along with her. I am convinced this helped him learn to read. It was great for him since he is an auditory learner.

[amazon_image id=”B00MI8OX3C” link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]CHALK MARKERS – MEGA 10 Pack – Each Premium Quality Pen With Unique Reversible Tip[/amazon_image]

8. Chalkboard markers – because I’ve always wanted some for our chalk art inspirational sayings. And I think it would help motivate children to practice cursive handwriting.

[amazon_image id=”B000NPSJ1O” link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]Winsome Wood Leo Storage Baskets, Set of 2,Walnut Finish[/amazon_image]

9. IKEA baskets – because you can never have too many for organizing all those homeschool supplies. Don’t you think?

[amazon_image id=”B00BKP8HHW” link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]Artist’s Loft 6 Piece Acrylic Paint Starter Set[/amazon_image]

10. Artist’s Loft Acrylic Art Starter Set – this is the brand we find at our local Michael’s Craft Store. And we love ‘forever paints’ (as Lil’ Buddy calls them – because they stay forever) to paint whatever we fancy – or one of Nana’s acrylic art tutorials!

Love how you snuck in the slow cooker! I must then add an outdoor swing, a lawn chair and a shady tree all conveniently close together. I sit, she swings; I read, she listens; I hang maps and art work in the tree, she looks and learns. Couldn’t live with out it. Sounds like time to write a Habits post.

I would probably by some puzzles and educational board games from my wish list. Or I’d just scrap all those ideas and put the $100 to a Kitchen Aid mixer that I have been wanting for 5+ years.

I think I would find a set of pre-cut felt letters for our felt board to help them form words when the time comes. And some more laminator pouches… I go through those so quickly! Hi Trish, it’s been ages since I’ve left you a comment. Doesn’t mean I haven’t been by for a visit. I find now we are in the high school years, time is something of a precious commodity. Besides what curriculum we do at home, my daughter is taking some classes outside the home this year. She’s also still doing her Irish dancing which keeps us super duper busy. Although she broke her foot at dance class in January and was out for almost 10 weeks. She just started back about a month ago. Anyhoo…I digress. This Amazon gift card giveaway is really awesome. I LOVE Amazon. (I’m a prime member) Hoping all is well with you and your family. Have a wonderful Easter!!!

I would buy Joy Hakim’s first book in her science series, a few printer ink cartridges and definitely a new pencil sharpener!!

We are all avid readers, so this would give all 5of us some spending money for new books.

I would actually use it for homeschooling supplies! I really need a new dry erase board actually so I think that would be my first buy!

Thanks for the giveaway! I would definitely buy a durable electric pencil sharpener, as well as some good history/science easy reader books, and more math manipulatives! 🙂
