$5 Dinners: Slow Cooker Batch Cooking: The Super Supper Saver

Join me on $5 Dinners today?

Having that ground meat, already cooked and ready to pull out of the freezer is a super supper saver. It’s a strategy that works with busy toddlers under foot, hungry teens hovering and all those in between. (that’s us!)

For about two years now I’ve been batch cooking with my slow cooker every shopping trip. My friend Little Sanctuary shared how she cooks ground meat in her crock pot. About Hodgepodgemom

Tricia faces a daily dose of chaos homeschooling five children. The biggest lesson she’s learned? At the end of the day – when the dishes are put away and the children are tucked in bed – truly what matters is each child’s relationship with the Lord. Raising children is a God-given privilege and, folks, the time is short.

Great idea! I’ve done it that way, too.

I need to get more organized again with our meals. I’m off kilter after our move.

Which reminds me to get out my crockpot for today! Thanks!

I’m assuming I just put the meat in? I think I’ll go do it now, I have some Italian sausage to brown up, and I could boil and cool some noodles.

Yes, Angie! That’s the beauty of it. Just dump it in and let it cook. All the details are in my post over at $5 Dinners. Just click on the highlighted link or here: http://www.5dollardinners.com/2011/02/slow-cooker-batch-cooking-super-supper-saver.html (Sounds deliciously easy – what you are planning!) 🙂

Do you sell an ebook or something with your slow cooker recipes. I love to buy it, if you do!
