About Hodgepodgemom

Tricia faces a daily dose of chaos homeschooling five children. The biggest lesson she’s learned? At the end of the day – when the dishes are put away and the children are tucked in bed – truly what matters is each child’s relationship with the Lord. Raising children is a God-given privilege and, folks, the time is short.

Thanks for the chance to win! With $250 cash, I could help a friend of mine who recently lost her husband in a motorcycle accident have a nice holiday with her three small children.

What would I do with $250? I would either stock up on ink for my printer or find a good deal on a e-reader.

Goodness, $250 would certainly fund a few”wishes”! I believe my husband and I could benefit a lot from a quiet sandwich dinner by the lake, with a babysitter for our wee ones. And we’ve been looking at a microscope for our young children to use for homeschool. Or a Hobby Lobby trip with the kiddos for some art supplies.

By the way, THANK YOU for the art tutorials! Wow, we’ve made use of the acrylic “Fall Trees” and several of the pastel tutorials just in the past couple of weeks. My children are ages 4 and 6, and they love art. I took private art lessons when I was homeschooled, and what a flashback this is since I haven’t been able to do much of it myself with stay-at-home momming…until now! I’ve been so blessed to do it alongside them now, and your site is perfect! Thank you for taking the time to blog for our benefit. Such a homey way of presenting, which is perfect for us homeschoolers. 🙂

Oh and to answer the question, I would probably pay off a bill. My son’s birthday is right before Christmas so If I wouldn’t use $250 for bills, it would go towards Christmas presents for my sons and husband and my son’s birthday gift.

Right now our need is for a new living room sofa. We’ve been saving for a few months, but with the slump in the economy it’s been really hard to save. The $250 would get us right at what we would need with our savings to be able to sit on something just in time for Christmas! Thank you to all the ladies who helped with prizes! Happy Thanksgiving to all your families and a very Merry Christmas too! 🙂

With that money, I would save most of it for the next big thing (such as a new washer – my old one is 15 years old and can break any day) and give some to Heifer International so that others can have animals to sustain them and their families. Thanks for this opportunity!
