You ARE an Artist with Chalk Pastels

After we had been using chalk pastels a while, Nana gave us this BIG box of 144 chalk pastels. And, because we love them so much and know that they will bless you too – we want to give a brand new box to one of you, along with a gift certificate to chalkpastel.com! Because you ARE an artist with chalk pastels.

~ *Special Note: This month is going to be wonderfully full of giveaways, free tutorials, specials and features. Subscribe so you won’t miss anything – and you get subscriber only art tutorials! This post contains affiliate links to art supplies we adore. If you click on them and purchase, you won’t pay anything extra but you will help us continue to offer art tutorials for free. Thanks for that!

Today we are giving away the big basic set of 144 chalks (pictured above) and valued at $44.95 plus a gift certificate to chalkpastel.com valued at $25!

Since we have been sharing chalk pastel art tutorials, we have always suggested starting with the student grade alphacolor set of 12 pastel sticks. A starter set is currently $6.40. You can get these at your local arts and crafts store, like Michael’s. This student grade starter set is what we started with and shared among our five children. You can even break a chalk pastel stick in half to share. Chalk pastels are frugal!

About Hodgepodgemom

Tricia faces a daily dose of chaos homeschooling five children. The biggest lesson she’s learned? At the end of the day – when the dishes are put away and the children are tucked in bed – truly what matters is each child’s relationship with the Lord. Raising children is a God-given privilege and, folks, the time is short.

My favorite is the first tutorial I tried “Path to the Beach” because I realized I can create a beautiful picture 🙂 My son’s favorite is “Christmas Tree in Snow” (it is proudly displayed in his Nonna’s home). All of the tutorials are wonderful and we look forward to seeing new ones. (Also appreciating the acrylic tutorials!) Thank you Tricia and Nana for all the inspiration!

Ah! The very first tutorial we shared here at Hodgepodge six years ago. My favorite too because that is when Nana introduced us to the joy of pastels. And I love that your son’s Christmas Tree in Snow is displayed at his Nonna’s house. Thanks Kryste!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Nativity and used it as a guide to create several that I gave to friends for Christmas this past year.

The nativity on that dark background and the light bursting forth – another favorite. Thanks for sharing Barbara!

We are new to chalk pastels and have only tried a few so far. We are loving the tutorials and my favorite so far is the bird nest.

My kids are addicted to chalk pastels. They started with the bird nest and have been working their way through the tutorials. It is fun to watch them create their own designs too. I especially like listening to them teach their siblings how to complete a particular pastel. They are indeed becoming artists! Thank you!

I love love love the video tutorials because while I have several of the ebooks I’m such a visual learner it helps me to see them in action 🙂
