Summer Camp at Home Update

Morning devotions, praise and worship songs, crafts, nature, art, snacks, sleeping bags, s’mores and more! Sound like summer camp to you? With a little bit of planning, you can host your very own summer family camp. Frugal and fun! It’s time to share our annual habit of Summer Camp at Home.

In the past we followed themed days but this year I think we need a little of everything each day. Also, this year, Mama is going to join in the fun: nature journaling, iPod time, photography skills and more.

So, after some thought and some suggestions from the children, this is what our days will look like…

Join me for the fun at Habits for a Happy Home today…

About Hodgepodgemom

Tricia faces a daily dose of chaos homeschooling five children. The biggest lesson she’s learned? At the end of the day – when the dishes are put away and the children are tucked in bed – truly what matters is each child’s relationship with the Lord. Raising children is a God-given privilege and, folks, the time is short.

We love our summer camp. We have found that they don’t mind the chores and it actually builds a atmosphere of team work!

We had a bit of summer camp over Memorial Day Weekend. I plan to put the tent out a bit more this summer. KOA Campground is 1/4 mile away, and the State Park Campground is a half mile away. Fun to toss the bags out and listen to the night sounds. Boys are out right now checking the swallow nest and lighting off smoke bomb fireworks with dad in the sandbox. Good Times. Can’t wait til the temperature goes over 60. 😉
