Summer Fun: Second Week of July

Still having fun this summer with instagram photos. Camera Phone Friday hosted by Dawn Camp @ My Home Sweet Home. This week…

1. Two-step Pound Cake | 2. Time to Purge – Girls Bedroom | 3. Girl cousins! (she finally got to hold baby cousin) | 4. Mama & Littlest Girl – Date Night. Her choice – Blokus | 5. Talking to Eldest @ Church Camp – on Skype. She’s on her way home now! | 6. Sweet and so tolerant kitty | 7. Boy and Blocks | 8. Sunflower Nature Journal – filling in with color | 9. Pooh Marching Band Backyard Parade | 10. Pooh Tea Party | 11. Eldest boy and Answers Magazine at Quiet Time | 12. The glory of homemade yogurt in the crock pot | 13. Littlest Boy and blanket at Quiet Time | 14. Star-shaped biscuits by Middle Girl | 15. Pantry vacuuming by Littlest Boy | 16. Upcoming pastel lesson by Nana

Helpful Habit: Keeping up the habit of sharing a helpful habit on Fridays. Today, at Heart of the Matter, I’m sharing our habit of Christmas in July. It’s one of my favorite parts of our annual Camp Hodgepodge. Basically, we think cool thoughts as we make cookie cutter Christmas cookies, listen to Christmas music, make Christmas gifts… You can find all the helpful habits I’ve shared on past Fridays here.

Plus…

My strawberry birthday cake. It is divine! (thank you Nana!) Prepared by Gabriel’s (owner is Paula Deen’s cousin). I believe the recipe is in Johnnie Gabriel’s first cookbook. What else did I enjoy for my birthday?

Pool fun with two of my childhood friends and their children on two different days this week. How blessed am I? Hugely.

I’m still smiling! And, tomorrow, Hodgepodgedad and I get to go see Jamie @ See Jamie Blog play Truvy in the play, Steel Magnolias.

Next week the big curriculum share hosted by Kris @ Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers!

About Hodgepodgemom

Tricia faces a daily dose of chaos homeschooling five children. The biggest lesson she’s learned? At the end of the day – when the dishes are put away and the children are tucked in bed – truly what matters is each child’s relationship with the Lord. Raising children is a God-given privilege and, folks, the time is short.

Phyllis and Jessy – y’all come on. Believe it or not there is just enough cake left for you both. It was a really big cake! Thanks for the BD wishes 🙂
