Who? What? Where? When? Why?

I’m joining in the photoplay hosted by The High Calling. This challenge stretched me as I was to capture five images that represent the Ws of my history…

Who made up your DNA? The above is a photo of Mama Ann’s side of the family – summer time at the beach. This photo is in the bottom corner of our August family calendar that hangs in our kitchen. In the group, my parents are in the far right-hand corner. My Mama, the artist. My Daddy, the engineer.

Where do you come from? The deep south. Born and raised here. When I moved away for four years, the pull of family and the red, Georgia clay was strong.
What object is precious to your past? The worn NIV copy of the Bible of my youth. The one I carted across the country in my early twenties. The one I clung to as I learned to hang on tight to Him. The inside underlined and all the bulletins from that baptist church folded and tucked inside.
What memory resonates most deeply? Freedom. The freedoms of my childhood. I could ride off on my bike and play on the surrounding acres all day. Safe with family in neighboring houses, I was free to imagine and just play.
What moment in history marks your childhood? The 200th birthday of our country. My Daddy let us climb up on the roof to watch fireworks!

The Ws in five snapshots.

About Hodgepodgemom

Tricia faces a daily dose of chaos homeschooling five children. The biggest lesson she’s learned? At the end of the day – when the dishes are put away and the children are tucked in bed – truly what matters is each child’s relationship with the Lord. Raising children is a God-given privilege and, folks, the time is short.

I love these photos! It gives me a really great sense of where you came from! This is why I love the collections that come in for PhotoPlay prompts at The High Calling!
