Winter World of Color

After a week with snow on the ground, the rains came and cleared the way for a neighborhood walk. We set out, after lunch, in search of color. We found brilliant green moss as we swung open the back gate.

It seemed a deeper green after the white of snow and the wet of rain.

Lil’ Buddy found a patch of snow to conquer not far down the sidewalk. “White!” he said.

Around the bend, around the cul-de-sac and back.

Youngest girl brings brown.

And a sweet gum ball found.

That was quick. We’re back to the gate. But what’s that we see?

The green and the red we’d seen before. But look at the blue!

Blue mixed with green. Now, that, we had not seen!

A quick walk after lunch to catch the color of winter. Green, white, brown, red and blue. Plus, some rosy, red cheeks too 🙂

*We were at the height of our technical difficulties at this time. Website down and camera frozen. These photos were taken with my phone. Can you tell I kept forgetting where the lens was? A few fingers in the way here and there. Enough to capture the memories though!

About Hodgepodgemom

Tricia faces a daily dose of chaos homeschooling five children. The biggest lesson she’s learned? At the end of the day – when the dishes are put away and the children are tucked in bed – truly what matters is each child’s relationship with the Lord. Raising children is a God-given privilege and, folks, the time is short.

Loved your blues of winter….and the little fingers too! So glad you were able to take your color walk after the snow and notice some changes since the last color walk.

Thanks for sharing your link with the OHC.

Gorgeous colors! It’s easy to forget that winter has its own beautiful colors! I really love the photo of all the kids’ feet next to the green moss!
